Both volumes have some tape marks to endpapers, cords stretched in places and spotting throughout o/w. good condition. With Coulson’s notes and annotations throughout plus some of his hand-drawn illustrations. Collated and complete. Original cloth binding with blind decoration in fair to good condition with wear to extremities and sunning to spines in clear protective plastic covers, which can be removed.
F.J. Coulson was curator of the BENHS collections for eleven years, unti 1954. His main loves were Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Hemiptera. He was the author of papers on coleoptera and his collection was passed to NMW.
