These two books are the first two printed books relating to the British Flora which have any claim to originality. Extremely scarce, at the time of publishing, only one copy of Libellus and less than 10 copies of Names of Herbes were known to be extant. They contain the first records of the occurence of many plants in England, together with their vernacular English names.
