Prof. Gerald Rowley Leighton (1868–1953) was a British physician, zoologist and specialist in reptiles. He founded the magazine Field Naturalists Quarterly in 1902. Leighton is commemorated in the scientific name of a species of snake, Psammophis leightoni.
