A fascinating insight into the writings of J.A. Harvie-Brown. The title of each article or publication is provided along with the date, an indication of the length of the writing and the publication in which the work appeared is given. How much Harvie-Brown wrote (between 1866 and 1896), whom he worked with, the breadth of birds he observed, locations and subjects covered are brought to life. John Henry Gurney (1848-1922) came from a prominent Norfolk family of bankers and ornithologists and was one of the original members of the Norfolk and Norwich Naturalists' Society which was founded in March 1869.
