A limited edition facsimile reprint of an anonymous account of Cook's voyage round the world between 1768 and 1771. The book was first published in 1771 and was unfavourably received by the Admiralty. Professor J.C Beaglehole attributed the work to James Matra who served on Endeavour as an able seaman and midshipman. The author of the Journal shows some hostility towards Cook and criticises some of his actions.
