Bound in green half calf-leather with marbled boards. Raised bands, gilt decoration and lettering to spine - very good to fine condition. Marbling to fore-edges of text-block. A lovely copy. VG. to fine condition.

A fascinating insight into gardening of the period. New plants collected by the plant hunters of the period including the Veitch family are presented along with practical advice on cultivation, garden design and more. Notices and obituaries compliment the text.
