Andrews, Patrick. Fishing Records. The Piscatorial Society Waters. August 1985 - October 2012.
Handwritten records. 1985-2012 Five A4 notepads (the last part-filled). Detailed handwritten notes recording times spent fishing for trout and grayling in the waters of the Piscatorial Society from his first visit as a member in August 1985 until October 2012. Dr. Andrews was a keen and committed fisherman who regularly fished up to 10 times a month during the trout season, and continued to fish for grayling after the end of the trout season. He was meticulous in writing up notes after each visit and his accounts make fascinating reading. Besides recording details of his catch he also recorded weather and water conditions, flies used, whether fish were rising, if other members were present (and what success they were having) etc. A unique record of 27 years fishing the same waters.
The Piscatorial Society is one of the oldest angling societies in England. It leases fly fishing on a number of chalk streams in Hampshire and Wiltshire, including the Wylye, the Test, the Ichen and the Hampshire Avon. The society concentrates on fishing for brown trout and grayling with upstream dry fly or unweighted nymph imitations.
