A very interesting provenance. With armorial bookplate and signature (dated 1893) of Francis Hubert Barclay, brother of English gentleman and fox hunter, Edward Exton Barclay. With ‘A.B. Jackson from M.L. Wedgewood’ neatly written to ffep. Mrs M.L. Wedgewood (1854-1953) was a botanist, the builder of a Herbarium at Marlborough College and very close friend of George Claridge Druce. A.B. Jackson (1876-1947) was a highly respected botanist, dendrologist and author. Also with the pencil signature of the highly respected Scottish botanist, [Sir] George Taylor (1904-1993).
