Account of two journeys, one in 1926 in northern Burma to Assam/Northern India, throughh the Mishmi Hills, and another one in 1928, accompanied by the explorer H. Clutterbuck, again to Assam. Clutterbuck apparently was one of the very few people with whom Ward could travel without overmuch quarelling, he dedicated this book in print to him, nicknaming him "Buttercup".
