Spotting to fore-edges of text block, endpapers and occ. internally o/w. contents fine. Original richly decorated cloth boards with gilt lettering in especially pleasing nr. fine condition. A photocopy of Bonhote’s obituary (from the journal British Birds) is loosely inserted.
With his scientifically trained mind, J. Lewis Bonhote was regarded by colleagues as one of the most original thinkers in the realms of British ornithology and was one of the first to take up bird photography.
